THE MISSION OF THE ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY is
that we follow the example of St. Vincent de Paul in
helping the poorest among us to maintain their quality
of life. Vincentians, as we are called, give of our
time, energy and resources to follow the words of
Christ:
"I tell you solemnly, in so far as you did this
to one of least of these brothers of mine, you did it
unto me." -Matthew 25:40
ASSISTANCE PROVIDED
The assistance we provide include donating
food, furniture, clothing, and giving referrals and
counseling.
FUNDING
Most of our funding comes from you, our
fellow parishioners. We also receive occasional
donations from other parishes and organizations.
Every dollar you give goes to help the needy. We are
all volunteers. No one gets anything in return except
for the satisfaction of helping their fellow man.
HOW CAN I HELP?
- Yellow Envelopes
Every 4 months there is a yellow envelope for the SVDP
Society.
These can be
dropped in the regular collection any
Sunday. This is
the best way to
help as it gives us the greatest flexibility. Please
give as generously
as you can.

- Food Drives
From time to time
we hold food drives to restock our pantry. Donation
boxes are at all
entrances to the church. Please be sure donated
item have not
reached the expiration date printed on the package.
Remember if you
wouldn't eat it, neither will anyone else.
- Bundle Truck Sundays
Occasionally, we
sponsor a truck to collect your donations of usable
household items for
our resale store on Biddulph Road. This is a
great way to clean
out the attic and help the poor at the same time.
- Blanket Sunday
Once a year,
usually in October, we collect blankets and money to buy
blankets for the
homeless in our area. This helps them to survive our
frigid winters.
- Membership
If you would like
to donate your time, please call the SVDP Rectory at
216-252-2626 and
leave your name and phone number. Someone
will contact you
with membership details.
- Prayer
Don't have the time
or money to donate? Your prayers for the poor and
our society are
always appreciated. |
